Yes, many of you read them but have you ever asked yourselves what message they give off to people our age?
These magazines talk about fun ways to look better, skinnier, and prettier. Body image has become an important part of looking beautiful, which has caused even more stress among teens. For some, it is hard to tell the difference between what weight is healthy or not.
I’m sure many of you flip through these magazines imagining what it would be like I you had that cute top, or an edgy new hair style modeled on one of your favorite actresses. It’s hard not to want to look like the people in magazines however that’s not reality.
Instead of trying to fit into what the media thinks is beautiful we should focus on what really matters. But we are surrounded by all of these ways to improve how you dress and what you look like on the outside which can be frustrating. You just have to remember that conforming to what others think isn’t worth risking your mental and physical happiness over.
